Monica Nuñez
Born and raised in San Mateo County and the daughter of immigrant parents, Ms. Nuñez's upbringing instilled in her a deep appreciation for diversity, resilience, and the value of hard work. Monica earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from San Francisco State University and currently serves as the Director of Development at New Door Ventures. There, she plays a crucial role in fostering sustainable fundraising strategies and cultivating a culture of philanthropy where resources are efficiently allocated to create meaningful change. Monica's previous leadership experience includes serving as the Assistant Director at California Clubhouse in San Carlos. Ms. Nuñez firmly believes in community-centric fundraising, the power of collective action, and the importance of building partnerships rooted in trust, empathy, and shared values. As a board member at Upward Scholars, she is excited to use her expertise and innovative spirit to drive our mission forward.
